At AAAS Conference:
Family Science Days
Global Warm'g Discovery

Global warming, climate change and their solutions make great science fair
project topics. At Family Science Days, as part of the American Association for the Advancement of Science Annual Meeting, this fine example was displayed.

The effects on sea level are compared between the melting of glacial/on land ice
on the left with melting floating sea ice on the right. In each tank, the same amount
of ice melts. A dramatic raise in water level is observed on the left.

One of many features in the ClimateChangeEducation.Org booth
on February 17 and 18, 2007 at Family Science Days.

Developed by student Patrick Weston at Sea Crest Middle School.
Patrick's California community of Half Moon Bay would strongly feel
the effects of a rise in sea level..

Not only are individual students doing award winning projects, but in some cases entire schools are choosing to focus on global climate change as a science fair topic. Of special note was the all day symposium at Casa de Mir in Cambell California -- an event which made the front page of local newspapers.Event pdf.
